Blades of Fire

Blades Of Fire - Neville Thermal Scissors

Creative Director and session stylist Jack Merrick-Thirlway has a weapon of mass protection. Behold, the Thermal Scissors System, a revolution in hairdressing and hair cutting.

The state-of-the-art Thermal Scissor System is the go-to hair hero. By cleverly warming the blades, the natural qualities of the hair are preserved by sealing the ends.

Permed, bleached and treated hair can all have a slice of this new scissor action and will be totally transformed into healthy hair.

This innovative cutting tool provides a two-pronged attack. You receive a superb Neville Hair & Beauty cut with the knowledge your hair is being treated to a new type of cut, that will heal your hair for good.

As Jack cuts hair, the ends of the hair are sealed, and the hair is largely transformed into its original state. This means important bodily moisture and care substances are preserved. The hair is effectively protected from environmental pressures.

  • Fine hair will be given more volume
  • Split hair will become healthy and more resistant
  • Permed hair will be given more elasticity
  • Dull, brittle hair will be regenerated
  • Every type of hair will be easier to style

The temperature of the Thermal hot scissors can be adjusted from 110°C / 230°F for fine hair to 170°C / 338°F for thick with additional split ends therapy. However, the stylist and clients are protected from the heat of the warm scissors by exceptional insulation.

The action of the Thermal Scissors seals the ends and hair is given a closed cutting surface and can no longer become fibrous. If applied regularly, split ends will simply disappear.

Now there is every excuse to get hot headed about this revolutionary hair hero.

11-Year-old cuts hair at Neville Salon

11-Year-old cuts hair at Neville Salon To raise funds for Chain of Hope

Sophia Grace Karaket aged 11 at Thomas’s School, Battersea has undergone a massive makeover in the name of charity. Over the past year she has grown her hair beyond shoulder length with the knowledge she would have a dramatic cut at Neville Salon, 5 Pont St. A salon who she entrusted totally for this momentous occasion.

This will be Sophia's second dramatic hair cut for charity. Where she has kindly donated to Chain of Hope Charity and Little Princes Trust.

On this occasion, she has raised a whopping £5,000 for Chain of Hope, a Chelsea based charity that helps provide complex heart surgeries to children in need. It is estimated that as many as 15 million children die or remain severely ill every year through potentially treatable or preventable cardiac diseases. Chain of Hope exists to provide children from developing countries affected by life-threatening heart conditions with the medical treatment to save their lives.

In addition, Sophia donated her hair to the Little Princess trust which provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment.

Dana from Chain of Hope comments, 'We need more good small souls like Sophia. These acts of kindness make a huge difference to charities like Chain of Hope and the little Princess Trust.

Look 1:

How to achieve the look:

Before the show, Jack created a shape, that would he would later attach to the models hair, by sewing two pieces of full textured hair structures together

He also created tentacle like structures using hair extensions and the Marcel Wave technique that he would later pin to the models’ hair.

  • Section the hair from ear to ear over the top of the head and clip the front section away.
  • Tie the remaining hair (back section) into a tight bun above the occipital bone to create an elongated shape to the head, fitting with the first creatures theme of the show.
  • Pin the previously made hair structure over the bun creating a large shape , ready for moulding.
  • Using clippers, create an elongated, alien-like structure that flows with the natural hair.
  • Wrap the structure in a hair net and spray with L’Oreal Professionnel Infinium hairspray. Diffuse whilst spraying to create a very smooth finish.
  • Add L’Oreal Professionnel Density Paste and L’Oreal Professionnel Liss Control to the front section before brushing towards the back of the head to further amalgamate the natural hair and the sculpture together.
  • Fix the tentacle structures using pins.

Luxury Brunette

Time to upgrade your colour? Now all blondes and brunettes wanting something extra-ordinary whilst caring for their hair in equal measure can lavish their locks in Luxury Brunette. Ever the advocate for strong healthy hair, Colour Director Seniz Alkan is proud of her Luxury Brunette exclusive to Neville Hair and Beauty. “Luxury Brunette” is a culmination of many details says Alkan.

This is a colour that cannot be achieved through at home box colour due to the multitude of deep luscious layers that are placed throughout the hair. This hair shimmers and glimmers in natural light, the end result is multi-dimensional with depth. Luxury locks.

Seniz explains, "We’re moving away from the flat one tone all over, which can be achieved by anyone and instead focusing on multiple shades to achieve dimension by intermixing different tones and creating custom blends that will best suit your facial features and skin tone."

After an in-depth consultation during which Alkan will ask you what are the deepest and lightest shades you would like to see in your hair, Seniz will use her expert know how to place the shades in a way that will enhance your hairstyle . The finishing touch is a gloss treatment which is an essential component of the Luxury Brunette. Unlike standard colour, the Luxury Brunette is high shine and the finish must reflect the light to give it that expensive touch.

Neville Hair and Beauty’s belief that it is their responsibility to give their clients something you cannot achieve at home - making this colour more desirable and luxe. It’s a very detailed method but low maintenance in the long run, this aspect makes it even more appealing.

Luxury Brunette is the answer to shedding the old colour and treating yourself and your hair to something special.

Luxury Brunette is a favourite of Lisa Snowdon.
