Fundraising week at Neville Hair and Beauty
All this week at the salon we are raising funds to help Ben Baddeley and his family – if you would like to donate just £1 on your treatment Elena and Neville will match you on every penny raised!
Here Ben’s mother explains their situation and asks for your support
“Ben has spastic diplegia cerebral palsy, he needed spinal surgery to cure his pain caused by the spasticity. He went through two years of tests to get the go ahead for the life changing operation. One week prior to his operation, the government pulled thousands of pounds out of the NHS which had a counter effect on Ben & his life changing surgery was canceled along with all of Ben’s treatment.
We were incredibly lucky and an anonymous donator paid for Ben to have his surgery in an NHS hospital. It was at that point that the NHS made the decision to not fund any of Ben’s treatment for his rehabilitation following the surgery, we were told that the NHS England no longer had a duty of care for our little boy.
We are at a point in our campaign where we are fundraising for Ben’s rehabilitation following his spinal surgery. The NHS will not fund Ben’s medical care at all & so we are reaching out for help to circulate Ben’s story in the hope of finding help & advice with fund raising. our 10 year olds treatment. We are fundraising to pay for Bens aftercare and Treatment for the up coming Rehabilitation. It is costing £2000 a month for his Treatment.”
Here is the latest radio interview with Ben’s mother on BBC Radio Stoke. During the recording Amy recounts the personal difficulty she has experienced trying to keep on top of treatment costs: ‘no family should have to go through this.’
